Organic Wind
An event at the popular Hoshino Area/Harunire Terrace in Karuizawa!
Dates: Currently running until June 30th (Tue)
Content: 100 colored fabrics dyed with naturally derived materials harvested from Karuizawa’s wildflowers create a gradient, decorating Harunire Terrace.
The 100 colored linens fluttering in the wind make for a great photo spot.

Karuizawa Grand Festa 2026 Summer
Details haven’t been released yet, but here are the dates!
Event Period: July 25th (Sat) – July 26th (Sun)
Contents: Special sale of fresh Kirishita vegetables, local produce market, workshops for parents and children, etc.

140th Anniversary of Birth: Tsuguharu Fujita Exhibition
Event Period: Currently running – July 5th (Sun)
Contents: To commemorate the 140th anniversary of the birth of painter Tsuguharu Fujita, 200 works from the Karuizawa Ando Museum of Art’s collection will be exhibited.
Includes works being shown for the first time!
Highlights: Central artwork “The Cat’s Classroom” (1949, oil on canvas)

“The Collected Poems of Tatsuo Hori” and the People Involved

The exhibition also showcases the interactions between Tatsuo Hori and the people involved with his poetry collection.

“A Moist Rainy Season Forest Walk” with Picchio’s Nature Guide

Karuizawa Hotsuchi Ichiba Craft Fair 2026
Although it’s past early summer and right in the middle of summer, this annual event is not to be missed!
Event Dates: August 8th (Sat) 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM, August 9th (Sun) 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Location: Karuizawa Hotsuchi Market (2564-1 Hotsuchi, Karuizawa-machi, Kita-Saku-gun, Nagano Prefecture)
Content: Approximately 30 craft artists from across Japan will gather!
Exhibition and sale of handmade works including woodworking, pottery, glass, fabric, and leather goods.
You can talk directly with the creators, and workshops are also planned.
Enjoy a unique encounter with the artists and purchase fresh local vegetables.
Karuizawa: Oxygen Room for People and Pets “VISION STATION O₂ SPA”
This isn’t summer event information, but… Opening in Naka-Karuizawa in June!
An oxygen room for pets…? ?
I thought this was quite interesting, especially the “pet-friendly” aspect, which I thought was very Karuizawa-like, so I wanted to share it 🐶
A new oxygen room has opened inside “VISION STATION Karuizawa,” a long-established eyewear store with 109 years of history, to support fatigue recovery and improved sleep.
They offer two different types of oxygen rooms on the first and second floors.
The two types of oxygen rooms are…
●1st Floor: Karuizawa Pet Recovery Pets are welcome.
Recommended for maintaining health and reducing stress. *Pets are only allowed on the first floor.
●2nd Floor: High-Concentration, High-Pressure Oxygen Room Oxygen concentration 40%, 1.3 atmospheres.
Ideal for maintaining condition, refreshing, and relaxing.
For those who want to spend a relaxing and healing time.
